Mission
The COO (Chief Operating Officer) function is a key enabler for the Risk Management department, delivering services and executing controls and supervision across the department, as well as for the whole bank.
Main responsibilities
The COO (Chief Operating Officer) function is a key enabler for the Risk Management department, delivering services and executing controls and supervision across the department, as well as for the whole bank. It enables proper working of the department and its tools and processes, monitors regulatory developments and coordinates changes efforts. The function also acts as a gatekeeper for changes to the organization and its processes and tools.
The COO for the division Risk Management is accountable for all operating business activities and projects of the Risk Management area and is the interface to all the other operational and corporate functions units of the company. It is essential that the COO is growth oriented and entrepreneurial.
This position provides the leadership, management and vision to ensure namely :
- state of the art end-to-end processes for all the Risk Management services,
- adequate operational controls and reporting capabilities,
- efficient administrative and operational procedures,
- people and systems in place to effectively grow and develop the Risk Management area and the overall organization, and increase overall operational efficiency and financial strength.
Key responsibilities Controls and Supervision:
- Ensure independent supervision of the Risk Management organization through an independent testing and monitoring framework. Maintain notably the Management Functional
- Control (MFC)across the Group via quality assurance.
- Monitor that WM entities comply with Group standards, adhere to the Group processes and that issues are escalated appropriately. Follow-up on any support requirements raised by entities, and deliver consolidated reporting from the entities (WM & AM) in coordination with regional coverage.
- Monitor Risk Management Budget.
- Manage Data Protection Officer function and ensure Risk Management with data protection, rules globally, and prompt issue escalation.
- Provide support to branches on regulatory interventions, as required.
Key responsibilities Services:
- Define and optimize process and application landscape of Risk Management, in close collaboration with Risk Management WM, TT, and AM.
- Coordinate IT requests for Risk Management projects and manage the related IT budget.
- Manage change team of Risk Management, that drives IT project and DI portfolio of Risk Management.
- Engage in key Steering Committees, in close collaboration with the Heads of Risk Management WM, TT, and AM, to ensure timely delivery of projects including user training.
- Implement and maintain framework of application ownership, and ensure users are properly trained.
- Provide management support to the Head of Risk Management.

- Education: Bachelor Degree
- Technical skills: Risk Management with regulations and internal directives.
Experience
- Years of experience: +10 : senior
- Experience required: 10 years+ experience in project management and COO functions
- Experience in private banking: Mandatory
