Our Monaco office is starting the new year with a fresh set of artworks to dress the walls of its Belle Epoque building.
Throughout the year visitors to the premises will be transported into the wild with an exhibition of stunning shots by the famous photographer David Yarrow. They feature several breathtaking pictures of animals in their natural habitat, including lions and polar bears, but also famous beauty spots and celebrities.
Committed to furthering art, UBP Monaco has an established tradition of hosting art exhibitions to enhance the client experience as well as inspiring those who work there. For the last five years an eclectic mix of works by both upcoming and established artists from around the world have been displayed in a succession of eight exhibitions. For the last three, Monaco CEO Sérène El Masri and her team have favoured single-artist selections, showcasing the works of Robert Montgomery in 2023, and Marcos Marín followed by Jean Boghossian in 2024.
The focus of this latest show, best-selling Scottish photographer David Yarrow, saw his career take off with the now famous picture of Diego Maradona taken at the world cup in Mexico in 1986. His subjects include celebrities, but also wildlife and famous landmarks, sometimes all together in one shot, as he seeks to tell an entertaining story as much as anything else. He reveals his passion for his craft by expressing his love of the world we live in: “Perhaps one day we will find life elsewhere, but I doubt it will be half as special as what we have on the planet that we are lucky enough to call home,” he says. David Yarrow dedicates hours, days, weeks, sometimes months to setting up the opportunity he needs to snap his entirely authentic but almost other-worldly shots. His efforts pay off as the popularity of his pictures remains unchallenged.
This ninth exhibition at UBP Monaco runs most of this year, from 20 January to the end of December. UBP Monaco is pleased to help promote David Yarrow’s work, and thereby also support his philanthropic actions, which are core to the business culture of David Yarrow Photography. For several years David and his team have been raising funds for charities spanning conservation, the arts, and cancer care, and in 2023 the David Yarrow Family Foundation was established.
