Zuhair joined UBP in 2019 as portfolio manager of Japanese Long/Short equities.

He has over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, his previous strategy research having focused on corporate governance reform, shareholder activism and event-driven strategies. Before UBP Zuhair was the Head of Research and the Japan Strategist at Jefferies in Japan from 2015. Prior to that, he had been CIO and Portfolio Manager at boutique hedge funds, where he managed concentrated, absolute-return, Japan equity portfolios. Earlier, Zuhair was the Co-Head of Equities and Head of Research at UBS Global Asset Management in Japan. He started his career at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi as a credit analyst before working as a sell-side analyst in Hong Kong in 1997–1999.

He has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with dual degrees from the School of Engineering and the Wharton School.
