Databases Administrator - Oracle/SQL server - External consultant 2025

Description

Group COO is a vast and key division of the Bank, headed up by the group Chief Operating Officer, covering several departments supporting the client facing teams. It strives to provide both in-house and external clients with a first-rate service to ensure our business operates efficiently and reliably. The division comprises Operations, Finance, Credit Structuring and Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, General Services (real estate, travel and logistics), Security and Data Governance as well as Change Management & Controls. All department heads report into the Group COO.

Mission

The role may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.

Challenges

Be able to work in a complex IS.

Main responsibilities

  • Install and upgrade Oracle database servers and application tools (including RAC and Dataguard system)
  • Install and upgrade Sql Server.
  • Strong knowledge in shell scripting
  • Strong knowledge in Ansible scripting
  • Allocate system storage and plan for future storage requirements
  • Create and modify database structure
  • Maintain system security
  • Control and monitor user access to the database
  • Monitor and optimize database performance
  • Plan for backup and recovery of database information
  • Maintain archived data
  • Back-up and restore databases
  • Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement
  • Contact database vendor for technical support
  • Generate various reports by querying from databases as needed
  • Ensure compliance with bank standards
  • Align changes to technical architecture
  • Provide support when needed

Security:  

  • Comply, operate and leverage the Bank’s security framework and conforming to the published security applications RACI matrix provided to all stakeholders.
  • Show an awareness of the criticality of being security aware at all times and in all aspects of work in order to protect the Bank from security related vulnerabilities and exploits.

Education

  • Education: Engineer
  • Technical skills: Oracle and Sql Server database
  • IT Tools: The database types used are Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and Playbook ansible.

Experience

  • Years of experience: 7-10 : senior
  • Experience required: Minimum 5 years of experience as confirmed DBA. Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows. Good knowledge in data modelling.
  • Experience in private banking: Optional

Language

  • French: Fluent
  • English: Fluent

Personal skills

  • Swiss resident: Mandatory
