UBP: WealthBriefing GCC 2017

Union Bancaire Privée awarded “Best Private Bank (Client Service)” and “Fund Manager (Global Reach)”.

At UBP, we focus on the one activity we excel at, wealth management for private and institutional clients. We are proud that our commitment was rewarded twice at the 2017 WealthBriefing GCC ceremony in Dubai on 8 November.

The award for the best client service acknowledges the excellence of our Direct Investments Group (DIG) and FOSS Family Office Services Switzerland offerings. The fund manager accolade reflects the quality of UBP's global asset management capabilities.

These awards are further evidence of the strong reputation UBP has built in the region. Walid Shash, UBP’s Head of the Middle East & Africa region, says:

“We are truly honoured. Both awards recognise our ongoing commitment to providing innovative services and bespoke solutions aimed at creating lasting value for our clients. Furthermore, the award for fund manager with a global reach particularly reflects UBP’s proven expertise in asset management on an international level”.

In addition to UBP’s coverage of clients based in the Middle East and Africa out of its headquarters in Geneva, the Bank has significantly expanded its presence in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) with the acquisition of the operations of Lloyds and Coutts in the region, thus reinforcing the existing team.

With this DIFC office in Dubai, the Bank boasts some 30 professionals covering MENA, including relationship managers and investment advisors providing full access to UBP’s range of products and services.

The WealthBriefing GCC Region Awards showcase best providers in the global private banking, wealth management and trusted advisor communities. They were designed to recognise companies, teams and individuals deemed by an independent panel of judges to have “demonstrated innovation and excellence during 2017”. In 2016, UBP was named “Best Fund Manager” and “Best Private Bank – Investment Management Platform” at the WealthBriefing GCC Region Awards. It was also awarded the “Best Private Bank in the MENA region” trophy at the Banker Middle East Industry Awards.

UBP’s drive to innovate, its quest for performance and its agility have been consistently singled out by prominent industry awards globally. Among other awards obtained so far in 2017, the Bank was the winner of the “Alternative Asset Manager” category and named “Best Private Bank – Investment Management Platform” at the WealthBriefing European Awards. It was also selected as “Best Boutique Private Bank” at the WealthBriefing Asia Awards 2017.
